Leah Mell

Leah Mell (she/they) is a lesbian writer originally from the American South and a current Las Vegas diva. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and is the former Engagement and Design Editor of Witness Magazine. Her obsessions are flamboyance, persona, the queer body, and the archive. She is currently working on a book project—part memoir, part cultural history—that explores drag and queer family in the Carolinas. Her work has recently appeared in Electric Literature, Roxane Gay’s Emerging Writer Series, Baltimore Review, Kitchen Table Quarterly, and Rough Cut Press. She is fond of ghosts and the sea.
